Rebuilding Together Dutchess County
On behalf of Rebuilding Together Dutchess County I would like to personally thank you and the entire DCAR team for your contribution of time and effort to our Rebuilding Day program! On Saturday, you impacted Dana, Christopher and Mrs. Papastrat’s lives forever. You showed their family kindness and dedication to your community as well as lifted the constant worry about safely living in their home.
We greatly appreciate you braving the rain to help your neighbors in need and your commitment to finishing the project in the sunshine this week. Our programs are dedicated not only to the improvement of individual lives, but also to the improvement of quality of life for all in Dutchess County. Helping homeowners remain in safe and healthy homes is important to strengthening our community and preserving housing affordability. In total, thanks to you and your fellow 100 Fall Rebuilding Day volunteers, we helped change the lives of 6 individuals in Dutchess County and returned their home to a warm, safe, dry, and independent living environment.
The critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficiency upgrades provided during Fall Rebuilding Day are valued at $75,000! And through our new Light It Up program, the work of our volunteers also impacted the lives of 16 of homeowners in the City of Poughkeepsie and provided much needed community revitalization. The solar-powered, motion-activated exterior lights installed on Saturday will improve safety and reduce crime in the Northside community.
We are continually overwhelmed by the generosity of our volunteers – without you we would not be able to make such a difference in our community. We hope that you had the best experience possible and welcome any feedback that you have to help us to continue to better serve our neighbors in need!
If you are interested in staying involved with Rebuilding Together Dutchess County be sure to signup for our monthly e-newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to be informed of upcoming volunteer opportunities and events. Together, we have the power to not only rebuild homes and communities but also to rebuild hopes and lives.
Thank you for your support of our critical mission!
